ESG in the investment team
Our ESG team is embedded within the CIO office (as part of the investment team).
The CIO Office is tasked with oversight of the Firm’s investment process, and focuses especially on ensuring the consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness of investment decision-making and analytical processes. Embedding the ESG team has proved to be the most effective way to ensure we live up to the mantra of ‘integrating ESG into our investment process’ – easy to say but often difficult to do well in practice.

Every prospective investment opportunity is seen by our ESG team and a view taken on the level of ESG analysis and due diligence required.
Raising awareness among investment professionals and providing support and training across our platform is critical. We focus our education on new joiners, interns, and investment professionals, ensuring they receive the necessary ESG training.
Our internally-developed training materials cover our bespoke ESG processes and we updated them periodically.
The team has also dedicated significant effort to understanding the evolving sustainable finance regulatory landscape, implementing process changes, and adopting technology-enabled ESG solutions to address complexities in private market secondaries.
ESG in private market secondaries presents unique challenges, but we believe this should not deter us from tackling it. We engage with various stakeholders to advocate for thoughtful, and fit-for-purpose ESG implementation, recognising the growing size, complexity, and influence of the secondary market. This is why ESG in the investment team remains at the heart of our approach.
