New York, September 19, 2024 – Coller Capital, the world’s largest dedicated private market secondaries manager[1], has hired Phil Gaechter as a Director based in Chicago within its Private Wealth Secondaries Solutions team. The appointment reaffirms Coller Capital’s commitment to enhancing its PWSS business across all channels, globally.
Before joining Coller Capital, Gaechter spent over 22 years at Nuveen, most recently within the firm’s Private Wealth Advisory Group, where he was responsible for fundraising efforts amongst private client, private bank, and RIAs in the Central region of the United States. Prior to this role, Gaechter led the Internal Sales and Service at Nuveen, as well as in several senior sales roles focused on the Rocky Mountain and Midwest Regions. Gaechter has also previously worked at BNY Mellon/Dreyfus as a Regional Advisor Consultant, with a focus on Private Wealth Clients in the Rocky Mountain region.
The PWSS team, which launched in 2022, now consists of over 30 dedicated investment professionals. In April, the firm launched Coller Secondaries Private Equity Opportunities Fund (“C-SPEF”), a tender offer fund open to accredited high-net-worth investors in the U.S.
The appointment of Gaechter is the latest in a series of Coller Capital hires designed to strengthen the global footprint of the firm’s PWSS business. As part of this new role, Gaechter will report to Jonathan McEvoy, Managing Director and Head of US Private Wealth Distribution. Gaechter will be responsible for overseeing and growing the firm’s presence in the Chicago territory.
