Coller Capital appoints Boris Maeder as Head of International Private Wealth Distribution and opens office in Switzerland

London and Zurich 03 June, 2024 – Coller Capital, the world’s largest independent investor dedicated exclusively to private markets secondaries1, today announced the expansion of its global Private Wealth Secondaries Solutions (“PWSS”) business outside the US. To lead the international expansion and head the firm’s new Zurich office, Coller Capital has appointed Boris Maeder as Managing Director, Head of International Private Wealth Distribution. This new office underscores Coller’s commitment to working closely with clients and intermediaries to facilitate access to institutional quality secondaries investments to meet increasing demand from private wealth investors.  

Boris joins from UBS Wealth Management where he led the firm’s global private markets distribution for the past eight years. Before joining UBS, Boris spent five years as a Principal in the Middle East at the sovereign wealth fund Abu Dhabi Investment Council, where he was responsible for building the US private equity portfolio. Prior to that, Boris served as Senior Vice President at Auda Private Equity in New York for five years, where he led US and European primary investments. Boris started his career as an investment professional in the private equity departments of Allianz and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in New York, Munich and Frankfurt. 

Coller will continue building its international PWSS team, which now consists of more than 20 dedicated individuals. In addition to building the business in Switzerland, Boris will be responsible for growing and leading the team in other regions outside the US, working closely with Jake Elmhirst, Partner, Head of Private Wealth Secondaries Solutions. In April, Coller announced the launch of a tender offer fund specifically designed for accredited high-net-worth investors in the U.S. A number of additional solutions are to be launched imminently.
