Coller Capital partners with Abry Private Debt on their acquisition of $330m Private Credit Portfolio

Abry Private Debt, the private credit strategy of Abry Partners, today announced the closing of its acquisition of a $330 million diversified private credit portfolio. Abry partnered with Coller Capital to complete this transaction.

The portfolio is highly diversified including primarily first-lien senior secured loans across a variety of industries, including commercial and professional services, healthcare, and consumer discretionary. All underlying investments are backed by established private equity sponsors. Abry will assume an active management role, working directly with sponsors, lenders, and management teams throughout its hold period.

“This transaction reflects a differentiated approach to credit secondaries,” said Aaron Gillespie, Co-Head of Abry Private Debt. “By stepping in as an active manager, we plan to build upon our sponsor and lender relationships, underwriting expertise, and capital markets capabilities to drive impactful outcomes across the portfolio. We are excited to partner again with Coller to continue delivering innovative solutions in the credit secondaries market.”

The transaction reflects the maturing credit secondaries market, where both investors and managers increasingly use secondary solutions as part of long-term portfolio management.

The transaction complements Abry’s track record as a leader in the rapidly evolving credit secondaries market. In 2024, with Coller Capital’s backing, Abry closed its Advanced Securities Fund III Continuation Vehicle, which, at $1.6 billion, was the largest GP-led credit secondary transaction at the time and helped catalyze broader institutional adoption of the strategy.

“This is another meaningful step in the continued growth of Abry’s private debt platform, building directly on our experience in prior transactions and reinforcing our position at the forefront of this market,” added Max McEwen, Co-Head of Abry Private Debt.

Martins Marnauza, Partner, Coller Capital commented: “We’re delighted to work with the Abry team again, following our landmark $1.6 billion GP-led transaction in 2024. Aaron and Max have a proven ability to deliver differentiated investment value in the highly competitive private credit market.”
