David Platter
Partner, Co-Head of Origination
As Co-Head of Origination, David is responsible for managing the firm’s investment origination activities worldwide. He is based in the firm’s New York office.
Prior to joining Coller Capital in 2013, David was a Vice Chairman and financial institutions’ investment banker at Credit Suisse. He was responsible for managing some of the Bank’s largest and highest priority client relationships with insurance companies, banks, asset managers, healthcare companies and other financial institutions, for whom he provided mergers & acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic advisory services.
A financial institutions investment banker for 27 years, David began his career at Morgan Stanley in 1985 before moving to Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in 1994. He was a Senior Managing Director and Global Head of Financial Institutions Investment Banking at Bear Stearns & Co. from 2000 to 2004. Thereafter, he was a founding Partner at an investment banking boutique where he led the financial institutions practice before joining Credit Suisse as Head of Financial Institutions Investment Banking for the Americas in 2006.
David has a BS degree in Business from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
